Agrarian Kitchen Eatery
Few could argue that Rodney Dunn and Severine Demanet, along with their team, haven’t created something very special in New Norfolk with the Agrarian Kitchen Eatery. I’ve photographed and written about it on a number of occasions, but with this second assignment for Monocle magazine at the AKE I got to experience some behind the scenes staff culture in writing about and photographing the staff meal.
Monocle were publishing a guide for entrepreneurs, which included a section on companies who eat together. So I joined the AKE staff as they came together post service to debrief and enjoy a meal together. Often, it’s an opportunity for the chefs to trial new ingredients and dishes, and for the sommelier to introduce new wines bound for the list. Definitely preferable to the sandwich I’ve scoffed while writing this!
